ICIIT 2018 : Call for Demonstrations

The Demonstrations Track provides a unique opportunity in this regard. Its primary goals are: first, to provide a good framework for exchanging ideas between theory and practice; secondly, to showcase their systems addressing real-world problems.

This year, the Demonstration Track introduces as like. First, a "Best demo award" will be granted to the most impressive submission of ICIIT 2018, selected by the program committee. Besides, authors will have the choice of two (non-exclusive) ways of exposing the public to their systems. The first way is interacting with the public at a demonstration booth. The second way, which we call “demo talks”, consists in video-projecting the demo, in 10 minutes maximum, in a regular session room, in conditions similar to those of regular talks. Authors of demos can choose to apply for demo mode 1 (traditional), demo mode 2 (demo talk), or both.

We are interested in demonstrations in the full range of Data Science & Analytics-related topics, especially as they relate to the conference theme.

Paper submission: September 30th, 2018 October 10th, 2018
Acceptance Notification: October 20th, 2018

  1. Formatting Guidelines, LaTeX Styles and Word Template can be downloaded here.
  2. The submission shall consist of a 6-pages short paper describing the system and providing information on the following points: what is being demonstrated at the venue; why the work being demonstrated is important and why it advances the current state of the art or benefits others; finally, how the work will be demonstrated. In order to make these points clearer to the Demonstration Program Committee, submitters are welcome to submit additional materials in a zip file whose size does not exceed 100mb. This additional material might consist of additional papers, videos, slides, etc.
  3. Authors are required to submit their electronic papers in PDF format. Files in Postscript (ps) or any other format will not be accepted. Over-length papers will be rejected without review.
  4. Papers will be reviewed by program committee members. Papers will be subject to blind peer review. Selection criteria include originality, innovation, applicability and potential benefits of the resulting system. Note: There will be no rebuttal phase.

Researchers and practitioners showing a demonstration are required to bring all necessary equipment and materials for the successful operation of their exhibit.

Tabletops will be allowed for every demo. Each exhibitor will be provided with one, where they may arrange their display. If available and if space permits, additional tables can be provided. Additionally, the exhibitor may bring a panel to exhibit their poster.

Demo Track papers should be submitted at https://cmt3.research.microsoft.com/ICIITDEMO2018 .
